Ms. Durham

Hello My Name Is...

Sandra Durham

About Me

I have been active in the field of education in Clayton County Public Schools for 16 years.   Last year, I was honored and received a prestigious award “Teacher of the Year” for Adamson Middle School.  My collegiate education background started at Paine College in August, GA where I  received my B.S. degree.  In preparation for increasing  knowledge in teaching and learning in an ever-changing society, I received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree   from Georgia College and State University (Milledgeville, Ga.). I continued to strive for opportunities to learn to integrate innovative ideas and practices from professors and colleagues. Later, I received an Education Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University, (Harrogate, TN), I received a Gifted Certification through the Clayton County Public School System Gifted Endorsement Co-hort.

I feel passionate about teaching because of a heartfelt responsibility to motivate and inspire students to be their best. Through my teaching, I had the honor to meet future doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, educators and other professionals.

Currently, I am a seventh grade teacher of mathematics and social studies at Adamson Middle School, Rex, Georgia. I serve as Grade Level Chair and Student Support Team (SST) Chair for Grade 7, Gifted Education Chair, member of the Better Seeking Team - Local Leadership Team, and Co-Sponsor of Beta Club. I am a committee member of the Math Club, and have nominated my students to programs such as People to People Leadership Program and National Youth Leadership Forum. Also, I work as a tutor for After School Remediation and Saturday School.
