CCRPI/School Designation Letter

SCHOOL STATUS PARENT NOTIFICATION

2017-2018

August 7, 2017

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

In December 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the replacement for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (commonly known as No Child Left Behind) was signed into law. In an effort to ensure parents of student who attend Title I schools are notified on how well their school is preparing its students for college and/or a career, our district mandates all schools inform parents of their College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI score). The comprehensive report card for all schools in Georgia, provides a score between 0 - 100 for each school-measuring how well the school is doing in preparing its students to be successful in college and/or a career.

Adamson Middle School’s CCRPI score for the 2015-2016 school year is 61.7 out of 100 possible points. The College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) report has been posted for public review by the Georgia Department of Education.  You may access the report at the following website: http://ccrpi.gadoe.org/2016.   From the available drop down menus for District and School, select “Clayton County” and “Adamson Middle School”.

I am very proud to tell you that Adamson Middle School is a Title I school that is continuing to provide a quality education to all of our students.

Our student achievement data indicates that the areas of reading and language arts are our relative strengths across all grade levels.  Math has showed some improvements.

At Adamson Middle School, we take pride in the teaching we provide for our children.  Our teachers and staff members work very hard to meet the needs of all students to ensure they achieve at their highest potential.

An important part of Adamson Middle School’s success is parent participation and support in developing activities to improve student achievement.  We hope that you will become engaged in our school improvement work as we continue to monitor student achievement and set high expectations.  If you are interested in participating in the development of our school improvement plans, being a part of our family engagement team or have questions about how you can better help your child in school, please contact Charles Wilkerson, Principal at 770-968-2925 or email at charles.wilkerson@clayton.k12.ga.us.

Thank you for all that you do to support your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Charles G. Wilkerson

Principal
