Ms. Anderson

Hello, My Name Is...

Amber Anderson

anderson

Welcome to my teacher page parents and students!
I am Ms. Anderson and I am very excited to be teaching your child this year. I am a teacher in the Department of Exceptional Students here at Adamson Middle School. I will be teaching English/Language Arts in grades 7 & 8 in both co-teaching and small group/resource settings. Students in my classroom are held to the expectations outlined in the Georgia Standards of Excellence for content curriculum while receiving appropriate individual accommodations. I believe that ALL students can learn and they enter the classroom with their own set of abilities and attributes. I am merely a catalyst to assist them in operating within their full potential. I also believe that "it takes a village..." and I look forward to working in a collaborative fashion with you in the future!

A Few Things About Me:

-I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers !) and moved to Lithonia, GA as a pre-teen.

-I love reading (any genre, especially mysteries)

-I love watching documentaries, comedies, and historical programming.

-I received a Bachelors of Science/Psychology from Georgia State University.

-I am currently obtaining a Masters of Science/Special Education at Walden University.

-I am certified in the area of Special Education General Curriculum (P-12). I am also "Highly Qualified" in all five content areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading) in grades P-8.

-In addition to being a teacher, I am also a Case Manager (I will be contacting you if your student is on my case load).

Classroom Behavior
It is the expectation of Clayton County Public Schools, Adamson Middle School, and Ms. Anderson that students will come to school with a positive attitude and enthusiasm about learning! Classroom rules and procedures will be delivered on day one of class  and rehearsed frequently to ensure that each student knows what is expected of them at all times. Students will also follow all rules, policies, and procedures outlined in their Clayton County Student Handbook.
